More light!

We managed to get my desk moved upstairs last night, after adjusting the lounge around slightly.

Looks good now, and I'll have a bit more daylight now,,,

And yes, that is The Backyardigans on for Ryder again :-)

Day-to-day life

As someone who works remotely to the Isle of Man from home in Utah, I work around 6 hours a day, starting at 6am or 7am, depending on how tired I am :-), which ties in to the afternoons in the Isle of Man, so there is some crossover for work questions.

Mrs Rallybug goes to work at around 8.30 each morning, so I have control of the Buglet from around 7.30am. Juggling keeping him amused/occupied, fed, and changed while still trying to work is a true balancing act...  In some ways, I live for the moments where we goes down for a nap - on any given day that can be 30 minutes all the way to a couple of hours that I can work freely.

On the flipside, standing him up facing me, or lying him back against my raised thighs, seeing his smiles and hearing his noises when I sing him Old McDonald are true moments of joy.

Oh, and he is, on occasion, transfixed by The Backyardigans - thank goodness for Amazon Prime, $79 a year well spent!

We're going to move my desk up from the dungeon (sorry, basement) to the lounge tonight, so that he can look out the window more, and get more play time in his jungle Exersaucer or in the piano floor gym. It also means that, as we head into the short Winter days, we'll both be able to see as much light as possible, rather than the small amount from the 2' x 6' windows in the basement...

Well, we're nearly 3.5 months in since Ryder's arrival on this planet, and maybe it's time to start blogging again - who knows, I might even keep it up, this time!

3.5 months... Three and a half months... 16 weeks... 108 days...

I've been the work-from-home Dad ever since my gorgeous wife went back to work just before R was 6 weeks old, and it's had its trials and tribulations, but overall, I'm loving it. Those first smiles, giggles, outright lop-sided grins, and the noises, oh the noises - they're to die for!

He arrived on our planet weighing in at 7lb 12oz, and had reached 13lb on his three month anniversary. I think he's been continuing since then quite nicely, as he's dropped the 0-3 month clothes, and is even wearing 6-12 month socks! Big Foot - meet the Hendersons!

Of course, nap time = productive time for Daddy. Washing the dishes, doing laundry including the cloth diapers that he seems to go through like nobody's business...

One thing that I'm definitely looking forward to? When R can properly poop without what appears to be pain :-(
